Welcome to the Cognito documentation. Here you'll find setup guides and references for using the Cognito Chrome extension with local and cloud AI providers.

What is Cognito?

Cognito is a browser extension that brings AI chat and copilot features into your browser. You can use it with:

  • Ollama — Run models locally (Windows, macOS, Linux) and connect from the extension
  • Cloud providers — Use hosted APIs when you prefer not to run anything locally

To use Ollama with the Cognito extension, install Ollama and allow the browser to talk to it.

Choose your operating system:
